The curios of the Marquis of Caumont
Exhibition at the Municipal Library, Livrée Ceccano, in the framework of "Lire en Fête". At a public auction last December, the Calvet Foundation acquired an important collection of letters written or received by a resident of Avignon, the Marquis of Caumont.
Joseph de Seytres, Marquis of Caumont (1688-1745) maintained a vast correspondence with the scholars and collectors of his time. He was also interested in Troubadours and Pétrarque. An attentive reader of the newspapers of the time, he learnt about literary production. He corresponded with Voltaire…
It is this wealth of curios belonging to the Marquis of Caumont which will be presented at the exhibition, which will also be supported by a catalogue.
